Suzy Shammah Gallery presents the second solo exhibition in Milan of Goran Petercol (1949, Croatia). The artist employs an extensive range of media such as drawing, sculpture and installations, and has distinguished himself since the beginning of his career for the originality of his conceptual approach.

In the exhibition The Things, the artist focuses on the functional qualities of daily objects in relation to space, pursuing the concept of symmetry. Through the reproduction of copies, opposites and reflections, he creates sculptures in which he subverts the balance of solids and voids.

Petercol plays with the illusion of making visible the invisible, such as the inside of a plate reproduced as a negative cast in concrete. The dimension of time is included in the nature of the artwork and represented as a dynamic process evolving in space. The materialization of void suggests the artist identity and testimonies his intervention.
