Suzy Shammah Gallery presents the second exhibition of Jürgen Drescher (1955, Germany) in Milan. The artist extends his research transforming familiar objects to emphasize their intimate nature. He uses color for the first time and casts curtains in red, green or grey epoxy fiberglass. Translucent monochromes, shaped according to their polystyrene mould, suggest a rarefied atmosphere of delicacy while releasing an aura of absence. The irregular and vibrant surfaces evoke the early spatialist movement. Casting his used bed sheets in aluminum or a curtain in resin, represents at the same time the physical and the conceptual threshold of using objects in the art context. The process of reproduction dramatically pinpoints the uniqueness of our subjective experience.
