The Suzy Shammah gallery presents the third solo show of the German photographer Ingar Krauss (Berlin, 1965). The core of the exhibition will be centred on Davao, a series of portraits and still-lifes realized between autumn 2006 and spring 2007 in Philippines. Inspired by the tropical atmosphere, the artist treats his black and white photographs with oil colours, as in the pictures from colonial period, and thanks to the touch of colour he reaches a sensation of exotic languor. Krauss proceeds with the same technique exploring his homeland whilst he maintains the intensity, authenticity and concentration of the gaze.
